| Summer Associate Program |

Dunn Carney seeks applicants with a combination of demonstrated academic achievement and diverse life experiences. Our firm typically hires 2-4 summer associates. The program is designed to expose the summer associate to the firm's various substantive practice areas through work with a number of attorneys on a wide range of assignments. In the litigation practice, associates may be asked to perform legal research, assist in writing motions and are often brought to court appearances, depositions and client meetings by some of Dunn Carney's senior attorneys. From the firm's business practice, summer associates can expect to review transactional documents, draft agreements and learn the art of negotiating deals. Our goal is to teach and mentor summer associates, while giving them opportunities to think and create independently.
While we expect summer associates to work hard and produce high quality work, we also want them to enjoy their experience with Dunn Carney and all that Portland and the Pacific Northwest have to offer. Summer associates often participate on the firm's softball team, attend firm social events, such as the annual golf tournament, and are encouraged to take advantage of the many cultural and recreational activities in and around Portland.
