Portland, Ore. –John A. Cummens has joined Dunn Carney Allen Higgins & Tongue as Director of Administration to support the growing law firm. Cummens will be in charge of all administrative matters in the firm.

Prior to joining Dunn Carney, Cummens worked for several different law firms, the most recent being Harrang Long in Eugene with three branch offices. He handled the Harrang Long expansion to Portland while managing the Eugene headquarters office. 

 

Cummens has a Masters Degree and a Ph.D. in Philosophy, which provides a solid foundation for dealing with lawyers and law office staff.  He is a Certified Legal Manager, one of a few in Oregon and about 100 in the United States.  He has been chair of the Oregon State Bar Law Practice Management Section, President of the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators,  is a fellow of the College of Law Practice Management, has taught Law Practice Management at the college level and has been a speaker at numerous high profile events in his field.  He is also  widely published in his field.
